Fun with Family

We were blessed to have Jeff, Erin, Hunter, and Chandler come to Budapest for 10 days in June. We had the best time dragging them all over Budapest and beyond!

Cousin love!

Larry took them caving to mixed reviews. Tight spaces, squeezing through holes, darkness, no escape routes....I was really glad I didn't go!

Side trip to Visegrad included fun on the bobsled track and exploring the castle.

Such a fun week!

Amsterdam Wrap Up

Beyond the tulips, we loved our time in Amsterdam.
We walked everywhere and just really enjoyed the city.

Souvenir shoes!

Loved seeing all the bikes. Some people carried 3 or more kids in this type of basket. Pretty impressive! I would have to improve my biking skills before living in Amsterdam!
The bike lot near the train station - crazy amount of bikes!

Our hands down favorite Amsterdam snack - the stroopwafel. So yummy.

We loved the Van Gogh museum. They had a "treasure hunt" for kids that was perfect for all of us! Chelsea loved finding each painting and filling out the answers. At the end, they got to choose a postcard of their favorite painting.
Farewell, Amsterdam!

First Day, Last Day

Still catching up on blog posts, but wanted to capture the last day of school today. Chelsea finished First Grade (or Grade One as they call it here), and Cade completed PreK 3.

First day....

Last day...

Logan thinks he is one of the big kids at Cade's class party

It has been a great school year for both kids.  Chelsea cried after school today because she is sad school is out. It makes my heart happy to know they are in a school that makes them feel so safe, loved, and nurtured. In a moment of reflection on the end of the school year, I realized I would be sad if we were moving back now.... strange to admit, but thankful to be happy and content here.

Time for Tulips

About a month ago, we headed to Amsterdam just in time to see the amazingly beautiful tulips before they are gone for the year. This has been on our European to-do list since we moved here. Last year, we had a trip booked, but then Logan was born instead. A great trade off, of course! This year, we decided to try again and loved very minute of our time in the Netherlands.

We spent a day at Keukenhof, one of the largest (the largest?) flower gardens in the world. It was tulip heaven and oh-so-beautiful at every turn.

There was a playground, as well. Always a bonus!

Our budding photographer wants to be just like daddy.

Our Aspiring Artists

Our kids are blessed to have a strong Fine Arts program at their school, with amazing art and music teachers. We recently attended "Fine Arts Night", and got to see their masterpieces from the year on display.
"Swimming"

Chelsea's owl and Cade's frog

"What I Want to Be" posters....Chelsea wants to go to Hoollywood. Love it.

Love my little artists!
