Vienna - Day Two

We woke up to a crisp, cool morning in Vienna. The agenda for the day was to go to the Schonbrunn Palace and zoo. The Palace was the summer residence for the rulers of Austria for hundreds of years. The grounds were amazing.

Like a postcard!

We took a nice walk around the palace parks and gardens. Everything was perfectly manicured and the fall leaves added beautiful colors to the surroundings.

Chelsea loved the giant leaves
Too much walking=ride on daddy!

The zoo was located towards the back of the palace grounds, and is one of the oldest in the world. We thoroughly enjoyed the zoo. The scenery was beautiful and the zoo contained all of the usual animals, plus a nice playground.
Stroller for the stuff, wagon for the kids
Of all the animals, Chelsea's favorite was the ladybug that landed in our wagon.
We finished our zoo trip with a yummy lunch of waffles, apple juice, and hot chocolate!

Waffles make me happy!

After some rest time, we headed back out to visit the famous ferris wheel of Vienna, the Reisenrad. It was originally constructed in 1897, and was rebuilt in 1945 after burning down. It is located on the grounds of the Prater, a large amusement park.

Larry was not impressed by its' speed, so he voted that we ride the other ferris wheel at the park.
We finished the day with a few more rides. A fun end to a fun day!
